As a USFSM graduate, Mr. Petersen is pleased to join with others in celebrating the success of the university over the past 40 years. The gala will be held on March 4, 2016 at 6 p.m. in the Fête Ballroom at Polo Grill in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

As part of the evening’s events, a presentation will be given by Jaimie Mayer on philanthropy. Ms. Mayer is the great-granddaughter of Sara Lee Corporation founder Nathan Cummings, and she carries on Mr. Cummings’ legacy as a philanthropist as well as an entrepreneur. Her presentation will focus on the role that millennials are playing in philanthropy today and on the importance of intergenerational philanthropy.
